Wisdom

Here's another great KLOVE Encouraging Word.

I think this is a great verse, especially for teens for men or women getting ready for college and adulthood.
Without advice and instruction, how will we survive adulthood?

Writer's Block Tip #1

Here is the first Writer's Block Tip.

Drop A Body From the Ceiling

In short, if you have writer's block and don't know what to write, essentially drop a body from the ceiling.

Daniel Schwabauer, creator of One Year Adventure Novel says in his curriculum to drop a body whenever you don't know what to write.
It doesn't just have to be bodies. It can be anything you want to make the story interesting.

Hurricanes.
Evil Villains shooting their death rays.
Robotic Droids trying to kidnap the princess.
Any disaster that will make the reader (and you!) hooked to the story.

So there you go. Writer's Block Tip #1: Drop a Body From the Ceiling.

Do Hard Things

I recently read a book called "Do Hard Things". Its about how teenagers have been given low expectations.
Drug abuse. Sex. Parties. Anything else you think a teenager does.

If you want to see the book, here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Do-Hard-Things-Rebellion-Expectations/dp/1601421125/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383597718&sr=8-1&keywords=do+hard+things

We all know some teens rebel against their parents. Instead, Do Hard Things is a book that helps teens rebel against low expectations. The authors, Alex and Brett Harris do an amazing job of showing other teens who've done hard things and encourage teens to do the same.
Alex and Brett say in the book that they believe that though teens are still in school and don't have many opportunities as adults do, the teen years are the best ones to prepare for adulthood.

Let's say you want to become a lawyer or judge. This is crude example, but say you had a fear of public speaking. Do you really believe that that fear will leave just because you will be an adult? Just being an adult doesn't mean you will have the ability to stand in front of a jury and present a case to the judge. Teens need to prepare for adulthood. It wouldn't be good if you didn't prepare for public speaking or tight deadlines if that's what your future job entails.

I loved this book so much that I bought the companion book, Start Here. http://www.amazon.com/Start-Here-Doing-Things-Right/dp/1601422709

And yes, I recommend this book highly. It will inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and not only do hard things, but do hard things for God.

Introduction to Blog

If there's something we all need constantly, it's inspiration.

I am writing this blog for the purpose of inspiration.
And as an aspiring writer, I know that if there is ever a time for inspiration, its when you have Writer's Block.

So here it is. A place for inspiration. One that will help with your walk with God, one that will help with writing, and anything else.

Get Inspired.
